Set in the heart of the bushveld, and less than 2 hours drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria, Mabalingwe has become renowned as the perfect venue for private functions as well as corporate conferences and team building getaways.

The Tlou Center conference venue has the capacity and flexibility to cater for functions of up to 250 delegates on a full board basis while the Giraffe conference hall venue can seat up to 40 delegates.

Guest accommodation is provided in either twin bedded rooms at the Tlou Lodge camp or at the four bedded chalets in lngwe camp. Both camps incidentally are within a few minutes drive of the main conference centre which is conveniently located close to the Tshukudu a-la-carte and Kubu Boma bush restaurants.

Monate Conference Venue

An oasis of peace and tranquility situated on the divide of the Waterberg and Springbok flats near Nylstroom. Traveling time is ideal for a weekend getaway or as a conferenence destination. (2 hour drive from Johannesburg International Airport).

Monate is set in a private game reserve, home to Leopard, Cheetah, Buffalo, Hippo, Rhino, Brown Hyena, Crocodile, Caracal and Jackal as well as a large variety of antelope such as Giraffe, Kudu, Eland, Waterbuck and Nyala. Being close to the Nylsvlei Nature Conservancy, a birding paradise, home to 46% of the bird species in Southern Africa, birding is prolific on the reserve with many new sightings reported.

We believe that by constructing Didimala from straw bales as practical alternatives to current high-imbedded energy building materials we will have provided high exposure to green building methods and encourage the much needed dialogue and debate concerning sustainable development and of the environment. Didimala Game Lodge was designed around the executive, providing luxury, comfort and sophisticated conference equipment in a Bushveld setting.If your requirements are exclusive get-togethers where organic architecture is seamlessly integrated with innovative conferencing & multi media technology, you will not be disappointed. 

Didimala was created from 10,000 wheat straw bales and is probably the largest structure of its kind ever embarked on. The use of modern, contemporary decor & furniture throughout the Lodge set against a backdrop of these rugged buttresses create unique contrasts.It certainly delivers the required atmosphere - a sumptuous venue with a distinctive difference. The achieved look and feel of the substantial and unyielding straw bale walls makes for charming conversation, instantly revealing its silent appeal to visitors not to keep the secret after they depart from Didimala. 

The uniqueness of Didimala was recognised when it was selected to host the World Summit on Progressive Governance in Feb 2006. Several heads-of-state attended the conference, including President Thabo Mbeki, Prime Minister Tony Blair and Nelson Mandela.

The 14 function rooms vary in size and can be configured from 8 people in 'boardroom' style to 300 delegates in 'cinema' style. We can cater for residential and non-residential conferences and courses, and provide a wide range of refreshments. The Lion Camp Conference Room and Boma provide a private breakaway venue in the bush, whilst syndicate sessions can be held in the many meeting points in the gardens. Drumming workshops get that team building going in the bomas. And of course we provide all the standard equipment needed for a conference.

The 58 elegant and spacious en-suite rooms, business and presidential suites blend comfort and style for the business and leisure guest. 

The luxury en-suite rooms are decorated in a minimalistic East African style with a splendid view on the lush indigenous gardens and sparkling pool. We also offer facilities for disabled guests.
